39 Week Vocabulary Lesson Plan Week #1: SAMPLE STORIES for roots CED/CESS and CEPT/CIP/CAP
This activity is NOT interactive. We hope you will use our "short samples" to inspire you to write your own creative and longer story using the 16+ words in this week's vocabulary lesson plan. You have permission to make a hard copy for further vocabulary study at home or in the classroom.
WEEK 1: My vocabulary.com STORY words from the root CED/CESS (in alphabetical order):
ancestor, concede, exceed, process, precedent, recede, succeed, succession
Extra words to use in YOUR story: antecedent, secede, unprecedented
SHORT STORY:
In order to SUCCEED in the PROCESS of the craft, my ANCESTOR would CONCEDE that it might be necessary to EXCEED expectations. The PRECEDENT that had previously be set would RECEDE in favor of a SUCCESSION of excellent products.

SHORT STORY:
The PERCEPTIVE pirate decided to EMANCIPATE the CAPTIVE who was RECEPTIVE to gaining his freedom. He would ANTICIPATE ACCEPTANCE from the crowd who would INTERCEPT the prisoner. Years later the captive would RECIPROCATE a good deed to the pirate.
